A group of Venezuelan nationals with Temporary Protected Status should have received employment authorization as soon as they applied for the humanitarian relief, according to a lawsuit they filed against the government.

US Citizenship and Immigration Services is obligated under both the law and regulations to issue temporary work permits as soon as a TPS applicant demonstrates “prima facie” eligibility by filing a completed application, according to an amended complaint filed Jan. 15 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
