Actress Holly Robinson Peete denounces RFK Jr.
Vice Ganda urged viewers to stay vigilant against false information in a recent episode of the noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
“Ang lala ng fake news ngayon. Ang lala ng false information lalong-lalo na sa Facebook, sa lahat ng social media. Mag-ingat po kayo . [Fake news is getting worse right now. False information is very bad, especially on Facebook, on all social media platforms. Please be careful],” the host stated.
She also emphasized the importance of verifying information before believing or reposting content seen on social media.
Addressing the spread of false statements online, she clarified, “Hindi po totoo ‘yun. Kung gusto n’yong makakuha ng statement namin, pumunta kayo sa mga sarili naming accounts, ‘yung mga legit na account po namin [That is not true. If you want to get a statement from us, go to our accounts, our legit accounts].”
The statement came after a post by the actor circulated, expressing support for former President Rodrigo Duterte, who was arrested on March 11.
The fake post stated, “Ayaw kong magpaka-hiporotO ha, aminin natin nung time ni FPRRD, karamihan ng adik nagbagong buhay, karamihan sa kriminal nauunang sumuko, dahil sa takot kay Duterte [I don’t want to be a hypocrite. Let’s admit it, during FPRRD’s time, many addicts changed their lives, and most criminals surrendered first out of fear of Duterte.]”
