FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - At University Drive Manor apartments in Fargo, you’ll see a warning sign planted on the door that reads “Danger, this structure is unsafe.”
“There was a guy that ran into a building. I don’t know what damage it caused,” said Sean Richardson, a man who spoke with tenants that live in the apartment complex.
There is damage on the outside of the building next to the main entrance where wooden boards are visible; this is just one thing the building has recently seen.
“Some tenants told me that some pipes burst in here and that there was a water issue,” said Richardson.
One man who is in the building pretty often wanted to remain anonymous, but he confirmed those issues.
“Regularly, the water heaters are off in the basement so that most of the residents have to deal with minimum to no water,” said an anonymous person.
Valley News Live has received several whistleblower messages regarding the unsafe conditions of University Drive Manor.
Several alleged issues with the building also include an increase in rent prices.
We reached out to the landlord six days prior to the notice on the door. He communicated with us via voicemail, saying, “The rent is $800 a month and residents are welcome to stay there,” said Richardson.
The sign on the door, however, says everyone is prohibited from entering the building and if anyone removes the sign, they will be prosecuted.
