  • A security lapse at Proskauer Rose left tens of thousands of sensitive client financial and legal documents from its M&A business unsecured for at least six months. The firm patched the leak two weeks ago but has yet to inform clients, according to a report. (Tech Crunch)
  • Twitter Inc. senior in-house lawyer Christian Dowell submitted his resignation Thursday, after months on the job as head of product legal, the New York Times reported. Dowell, who joined online knowledge site Quora in May 2020, was among lawyers who moved up in the wake of Elon Musk’s legal department purge at the social network earlier this year. (NYT)
  • Transatlantic firm Womble Bond Dickinson acquired patent prosecution and litigation boutique Moyles IP in 2023’s latest law firm tie-up. Womble said it’s getting a team of five intellectual property attorneys, led by partners Lisa J. Moyles, a former GE patent counsel, and partner Jason Rockman. The attorneys will be based in the firm’s New York, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Washington offices. (WombleBondDickinson.com)
