At the end of August 2021, over 40 judges of the First-tier Tribunal, were assigned temporarily to sit in the Employment Tribunals in England and Wales. This was achieved using the judicial assistance provisions at Section 5D of the Employment Tribunals Act 1996 and the regulations made thereunder which had come into force for most purposes on 8 October 2020.
