Walmart Inc. has been hit with a class action lawsuit alleging it makes false and misleading claims about the weight loss benefits associated with its Spring Valley Garcinia Cambogia supplements.
Plaintiffs Lynn Bolden and Sandra Giorgi filed the Walmart class action lawsuit, claiming that Walmart falsely advertises Spring Valley Garcinia Cambogia as an effective “weight management” tool.
The active ingredients in the Spring Valley Garcinia Cambogia supplements are hydroxycitric acid and chromium picolinate, which the Walmart class action lawsuit says are “scientifically proven to be incapable of providing such weight-loss benefits.”
The lawsuit points to the supplement’s label, which prominently states “Weight Management Support” and “Garcinia Cambogia Extract is a source of hydroxycitric acid (HCA) that helps support weight management goals.”
