Walmart Inc. is partially free of allegations it violated California wage-and-hour laws after the company and workers agreed to a federal magistrate judge’s jurisdiction, cementing recommendations the judge issued last year.
The workers accuse Walmart of multiple labor law violations, including failing to pay minimum and overtime wages or provide proper rest breaks. The superstore’s request to toss some of the allegations was partially granted, but the workers may try to fix up some sections of their suit, Magistrate Judge Erica P. Grosjean of the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said Monday.
