‘Weak management’ | Network Rail accepts failures as worker wins racial harassment tribunal - HR Grapevine

Network Rail’s response to a worker’s racial harassment complaints has been questioned, after the employee won a tribunal that found he was ‘ostracised’ by colleagues.

Parjmit Bassi, last employed by the company in 2021, had complained about a series of incidents, which included an English Defence League leaflet being left in his locker.

The tribunal found that Bassi was subject to “clear slights” against his race, and criticised Network Rail’s “laissez-faire” attitude to his complaints.

Network Rail has accepted the tribunal’s findings and acknowledged that it should have done more.
