Webtoon Artist Speaks up in Defense of LOONA's Chuu Against BlockBerry - CBR - Comic Book Resources

A webcomic artist has spoken up in light of K-Pop artist Chuu's removal from her group LOONA due to allegations of violent behavior from her company.

On Nov. 25, news broke that BlockBerry Creative, the company in charge of managing the activities of K-Pop girl group LOONA, was removing Chuu from the group. In their statement translated by Soompi, BlockBerry Creative cited Chuu using "violent language and misuse of power toward[s their] staff." The company officially apologized to the alleged staff and "have decided to take responsibility for this and remove Chuu from LOONA." Since news of Chuu's removal from LOONA broke out, many fans and staff have spoken about their experiences interacting and working with her. According to a translation of their Instagram post by LitellJohnn, the webcomic artist Wondung claimed that Chuu was "not the kind of person who would do that at all."

In the post, Wondung said, "You can tell a celebrity's character when you're on a filming set." Setting out examples of Chuu's character in the post, such as encouraging people when they're exhausted, Wondung ended their post by saying, "Everyone has eyes and ears. This is a complete nonsense article. If my account disappears, the culprit is [muffled]." Many people have taken the "[muffled]" to mean BlockBerry Creative suspending accounts for defending the former LOONA member.
