Kentucky Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear vetoed a bill that would ban transgender girls from participating in girls or women’s sports from grades six through college.

Virginia Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a multimillionaire who last year pledged to donate his state salary if he won the governorship, is giving away the first chunk of his earnings to a group that provides counseling to emergency responders.

The Alaska Senate passed a bill that would allow the state and tribes to begin work on education compacting. In tribal education compacting, tribes can tailor their students’ education to their own needs and hopefully address low rates of graduation and attendance among Alaska Native students.

Starting in January, job postings in Washington will have to include some dollar signs. Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat, signed legislation requiring employers in the state to include salary and benefits information in job postings.
