Who is Erika Cheung from Theranos?
Erika Cheung was a key whistleblower in the fraud trial against Theranos head Elizabeth Holmes, regarding the way the company conducted blood tests, and she is played by Camryn Mi-Young Kim in The Dropout.
The series introduces Erika as a fresh Theranos employee who came straight from the University of California with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology in addition to Linguistics.
Erika ended up teaming up with Tyler Shultz – played by Dylan Minnette in The Dropout – in a plan to expose Theranos while they both worked as lab assistants.
Where is the whistleblower now?
After Theranos, Erika became one of John Carreyrou’s primary sources for his book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup.
