Whistleblower Accuses Emil Bove of Judicial Misconduct Amid Immigration Case Controversy - Букви

Recently, another whistleblower approached the Department of Justice’s watchdog with serious allegations. He claims that Emile Bove, a senior official currently nominated for a judgeship, allegedly suggested ignoring court orders during a significant legal dispute related to immigration.

This whistleblower, a former Department of Justice attorney in the Office of Immigration Litigation, reported that documents submitted to the DOJ Inspector General’s Office support his testimony that Bove attempted to mislead federal judges during an active deportation campaign that took place this spring.

“I believe it would be extremely dangerous for such a person to receive a lifetime appointment as a federal appellate judge.”

These allegations were filed back in May, before Erez Reuveni, an immigration law expert who worked on the case of a wrongfully deported immigrant, made similar claims in his letter in June. After Reuveni made his accusations public, the whistleblower who worked alongside him decided to also come forward with his disclosures ahead of the Senate vote on Bove’s confirmation.

Although CNN has not verified the documents submitted by this whistleblower, news of his allegations surfaced just days before Bove, former personal attorney to President Donald Trump, was set to receive a final Senate vote for a lifetime appointment to the appellate bench.
