The whistleblower, identified as A, who raised allegations of comedian Cho Sae-ho’s involvement with gangs, has deleted all related posts.
On the 7th, A wrote on their Instagram Story, “I have taken down the posts for now and will re-upload them once things are sorted out. My account could be deleted. I’ve heard that the Prosecution Service and police are currently digging into my personal information. I’m not the criminal here, but money is truly intimidating. Still, I won’t give in. I am not doing this for money, so please don’t misunderstand.”
A further claimed, “If you look at old dramas, journalists who know the truth are murdered or pressured. Even if you know the truth, there’s nothing you can do in the face of money and power. South Korea is truly corrupt.”
Previously, an online user, identified as A, alleged via their social media account, “Cho Sae-ho, reflect on your actions. Using your acquaintances as an excuse, you accepted expensive gifts and promoted a franchise operated by a gang member. You also drank with the leader of the largest gang in Geochang County. Is this acceptable behavior for a national comedian?”
In response, A2Z Entertainment stated on the 5th, “Cho Sae-ho and Mr. Choi are merely acquaintances.
