Boeing has been accused of leaving airplane components out in the rain, and using these corroded parts in the assembly of its 737 passenger aircraft.

"They're keeping thousands of parts out in the elements in Seattle, where it rains all the time," a lawyer for several Boeing employees told Newsweek.

"It doesn't make any sense, why can Boeing not afford to get a warehouse to store parts properly?," he said.

Brian Knowles is a Charleston, South Carolina-based attorney, who represents over a dozen former and current employees of both Boeing and Spirit, the parts supplier bought back by the company in early July.

His client list includes Joshua Dean and John Barnett, the two Boeing whistleblowers who voiced concerns about the company's safety practices, before dying suddenly a few weeks apart – Dean from a bacterial infection and Barnett by self-inflicted gunshot wound.

One of Knowles's clients, Sam Mohawk, observed the company's corner-cutting approach to aircraft construction while working as a quality assurance inspector at Boeing's production facility in Renton, Washington.
