Director of Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said a whistleblower detailed how their supervisor threatened them to support the Obama-era Russia "hoax" despite it not being credible or accurate.
The whistleblower said they served as a Deputy National Intelligence Officer for the National Intelligence Council (NIC) from 2015 to 2020.
Gabbard said the whistleblower, who was not identified by name, refused to comply.
Yesterday we released the Whistleblower's firsthand account of what happened in the crafting of the January 2017 ICA, their yearslong efforts to expose the egregious manipulation and manufacturing of intelligence carried out at the highest levels of government and the IC (detailed in our previous releases) and how they were repeatedly ignored," Gabbard wrote on X Thursday.
Thank you to this courageous whistleblower, and others who are coming forward now, putting their own well-being on the line to defend our democratic republic, ensure the American people know the truth, and hold those responsible accountable," she added.
Gabbard also shared a 19-page document that she said highlights the whistleblower's experience, which included details about how they were pressured to go along with what Gabbard has described as a false narrative.
