Whistleblower complaint targets Rep. Adrielle Camuel in FCPS legal battle - FOX 56 News

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A whistleblower complaint filed Thursday by Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins is placing renewed scrutiny on State Representative and FCPS employee Adrielle Camuel.

The complaint, which spans 26 pages, called on state investigators to examine Camuel’s work schedule, leave usage, remote work authorization, and whether she performed legislative work while being compensated by the school district.

Liggins alleged Camuel’s “public service commitments” should not have displaced the duties FCPS paid her to perform during scheduled working hours. The complaint also asked investigators to examine whether political influence led to preferential treatment, misuse of public funds, or abuse of authority.

Camuel’s attorney, Hannah Wilson, denied the allegations, saying her client’s work schedule had been approved by district leadership before she was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives.

“There were discussions before she ever even ran for office about what her schedule would look like,” Wilson said. “Those were all approved by Central Office leadership.”

Wilson also rejected suggestions that the arrangement was not known to district officials.

“This has not been a secret or some deal that she struck under the table with somebody in central office that nobody knew about,” she said.
