Alongside the post deletions, mentions of potential account deletion have pushed the controversy into a new phase.
On the 7th, Mr. A, who had continuously alleged connections between Cho Sae-ho and Mr. Choi, the individual identified as a local gangster, deleted a large number of related posts from their SNS account where they had been posting exposés. Later, they left a short statement via a one-time story.
In the story, Mr. A wrote, "I’ll take down the posts for now and re-upload them once things are sorted. My account might get deleted. I heard the police and prosecutors are investigating my personal information, but I’m not the criminal—still, money is scary. But I won’t back down." They added, "I’m not seeking attention. Don’t misunderstand."
Mr. A also implied external pressure, stating, "In dramas, journalists know the truth but face coercion or even murder, right? Knowing the truth doesn’t mean you can do anything against money and power."
