Whistleblower exposes childcare failures as man faces 1623 child sexual abuse charges - Nine Shows

Exclusive: A whistleblower has spoken to A Current Affair to expose new details about the alleged sexual assault of 91 young girls at various childcare centres in Brisbane and Sydney and overseas over the span of 15 years, as a 45-year-old Gold Coast man faces more than 1600 charges.

The 45-year-old allegedly filmed the rape and abuse and uploaded the child abuse material to the dark web.

His alleged offending included 136 counts of rape and 110 counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10.

Police allege the man recorded his offending on phones and cameras.

The bombshell charges earlier this week left parents, grandparents and carers around Australia demanding to know how the alleged offences weren't detected earlier.

Tonight in an interview with A Current Affair reporter Dan Nolan, the whistleblower will reveal the failures in the childcare system that allowed an alleged predator to have access to children on their own for extended periods and how, in some cases, he was able to isolate them.

Complaints were reported about the man at the centre of the allegations, which were investigated by police, but he was cleared to return to work in a childcare centre where it is alleged he continued to offend.
