Belagavi: Jayant Tinaikar, a whistleblower, exposed a fraudulent job racket active in the Belagavi district. During a press conference in Belagavi, Tinaikar referred to 16 cases wherein job aspirants were cheated out of lakhs of rupees in a fake govt job racket. He alleged that the police are not taking any action against those involved.Speaking to the media at Kannada Sahitya Bhavan on Tuesday, social activist Jayant Tinaikar alleged that 16 cases of job fraud have come to light in the Belagavi district. However, he said, the police department is reluctant to take action against those involved. It is suspected that ministers and influential people may have a hand in this. He alleged that the police department was refusing to register the complaint, which they tried to file along with official documents.Tinaikar said a network that cheats candidates by luring them with job offers has been active in the district for the past one and a half years. The police department was notified of this several times, but to no avail. Sixteen of the cheated candidates, including Kavya Gundappa Yallur, Yallappa Gundappa Yallur, Nagesh Patil of Khanapur taluk, Vitthal Pindappanavar, Praveen Kandappanavar, and Nagaraj Irappa Garagad of Bailhongal taluk, have made efforts to get their money back.
