Whistleblower Hotline: Hillsboro apartment tenants frustrated with pothole problem - Valley News Live

HILLSBORO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Residents of a Hillsboro apartment complex are coming to the Valley News Live Whistleblower Hotline looking for some help with a years-long pothole problem.

They live at Hillsboro Manor, located at 502 2nd Avenue Southwest, which is managed by Orange Properties.

Dozens of potholes can be seen throughout the parking lot.

An anonymous tenant tells Valley News Live some are so big, they’ve seen a child hit a pothole with their bike, fall, and break their elbow.

Charles Bommersbach, another tenant, says, “When you’re in a car, it’s just movements back and forth, back and forth. I mean, it’s hard on the suspension on your vehicle.”

He’s lived in Hillsboro Manor for 20 years, and what was once a safe haven, has now become a bit of a headache.

He says he drives different ways out of the parking lot as a result of the concrete craters.

“I’ve been driving across the lawn and grass to stay out of those moon crater things!” he says.

Bommersbach and others claim they’re becoming frustrated these holes have been there for so long.

“They’re just not doing anything about it, that’s really the frustrating part,” Bommersbach added.

Valley News Live got ahold of Orange Properties who explained the owner of a certain complex is the one who’s responsible for fixing the holes. They’re allegedly working with the county for future repairs.
