Palghar: A developer from Mira Bhayander has lodged a police complaint claiming that he received a threat call via WhatsApp from a mobile phone number from Pakistan on Saturday besides a voice message abusing and threatening his family. The unidentified caller also sent a second voice message on Monday when the complainant was seated in front of a deputy commissioner of police of the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar at his office.
In the call and voice messages the complainant and his family members have been abused and threatened. Meanwhile there is no FIR registered in this case, as the cops are investigating the complaint letter received on Monday.
Raju Shah (62), who owns a construction firm, had exposed the Urban Land Ceiling scam in Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation jurisdiction a few years ago.
For the last couple of years, he was complaining about the alleged land-grab scam in which land parcels located in village Kashi and Ghodbunder were targeted by four developers.
"This property is under the control of the central government as per the Enemy Act," said Shah.
There were four brothers, of which, once permanently migrated to Pakistan but did not transfer his property rights to his three brothers, hence his share automatically became govt property, as per Enemy Act of 1967, he claimed. However, a group of developers is trying to develop this property, on the basis of permission issued by the civic body, which is completely illegal,, he said.
