In February 2022, HWDSB Trustees approved a Whistleblower Policy that allows employees, parents/families, students, Board Trustees, community members and others to come forward if they have reasonable information or concerns with respect to human rights violations, poisoned environment, conflicts of interest, child protection, violence, harassment, bullying, alleged illegal practices, questionable financial or operational transactions or any breach of Board policy or procedure without fear of reprisal.
In support of this policy, a Whistleblower Procedure has been established through a confidential third-party whistleblower service, Integrity Counts at http://www.integritycounts.ca/org/hwdsb. Reports of suspected wrongdoings can be filed online, by phone via toll-free hotline, or by mail. Translation services to support whistleblower reporting are available in multiple languages via the toll-free hotline.
