SAN FRANCISCO — The California Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s ruling that an elected city treasurer may not sue the city of Inglewood for retaliation under the state’s labor laws. These whistleblower protections are meant to protect vulnerable workers from their bosses and do not extend to elected officials who are not hired and fired in the same way as employees.
