News of broadcaster Cho Sae-ho’s return, amid allegations of ties to organized crime, has resurfaced as whistleblower A, who first raised the suspicions, publicly released additional photos of Cho Sae-ho at a drinking gathering.
In response, Cho Sae-ho’s camp told Chosun.com, “While Cho Sae-ho is acquainted with the individual in question, he was entirely unaware of any criminal involvement and has never received any money or gifts. We are unable to file a defamation lawsuit against A due to their unidentified status.”
According to entertainment industry sources on the 9th, A, who initially alleged Cho Sae-ho’s ties to organized crime, posted photos on social media the previous day showing Cho Sae-ho at a drinking event. A stated, “He is a public figure who lives off public trust and influence. Public figures have a responsibility to manage relationships that could lead to misunderstandings.”
A appears to have released the photos to support claims that Cho Sae-ho attended a drinking event with an individual identified as a member of an organized crime group.
A reiterated allegations that Cho Sae-ho received money from the individual linked to organized crime, asking, “If Cho Sae-ho truly believed he was innocent, would he have left the shows he was appearing on?” A added, “The person accused of being part of an organized crime group (who threatened to sue me) fled overseas to Dubai.
