WASHINGTON — A former Justice Department lawyer who has emerged as a whistleblower has shared text messages and emails with Congress in an attempt to bolster his claim that senior officials, specifically top DOJ official Emil Bove, discussed plans for the Trump administration to ignore court orders to carry out the president’s deportation agenda.
Bove, who was a criminal defense attorney for President Donald Trump before joining the Justice Department as the principal associate attorney general, is being considered by the Senate for a seat on the Pennsylvania-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
