Whistleblower report alleges improper use of county-owned computers. DA is investigating - Erie Times-News

Investigation includes head of Erie County IT department, who has retained lawyer. County Executive Davis acknowledges probe, defers to DA Hirz, who cites ‘pending investigation' and has no comment.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the director of the county’s information technology department and other county IT employees over allegations of misuse of county-owned computer equipment.

The probe of the employees, who work in the administration of Erie County Executive Brenton Davis, includes a sealed search warrant and seizure of county-owned computers in mid-September, according to information obtained by the Erie Times-News.
