A fresh legal battle has erupted over Nigeria’s controversial Paris Club refund as a civil society group has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to halt the payment of $396.6 million to consultants linked to Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate, alleging fraud and double claims.
The suit, filed by the Registered Trustees of the George Uboh Whistleblowers Network, challenges moves by top government officials to approve the payment to Linas International Limited and its principal.
The defendants in the case are the Attorney-General of the Federation, Federal Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Minister of Finance, Linas International Limited and Senator Ned Nwoko, listed as the 1st to 5th Defendants respectively.
In the originating summons marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1723/2025, the plaintiff is asking the court to determine whether the Federal Government is justified in paying the disputed sum.
