“Whistleblower Aid would of course applaud any legitimate program that supports lawful whistleblowing. However, President Trump has been overtly hostile to public interest whistleblowers who have bravely exposed fraud and corruption within his administrations. These public servants are committed to the oath they took to the Constitution, not a payday. We know—we represent many of them.
His newfound concern for protecting whistleblowers is big…if it were true. But we all know that President Trump is more interested in hunting down whistleblowers—including calling for retaliation against them—than any public-minded goal.
If the President is truly interested in rooting out wrongdoing, Whistleblower Aid invites him to start by examining the violations perpetrated by his own administration, including senior officials. We would happily work with him on this vital accountability effort to help save our democracy.”
