Due to a recent article posted on Oz Arab Media regarding Kerry Adler, a group of anonymous whistleblowers has come forward with allegations of misconduct by Skypower, a renewable energy company in which the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has a stake. The allegations include workplace harassment, bullying, inappropriate use of company resources, and misleading investors.
In response to the allegations, CalPERS has launched an investigation into Skypower’s practices. The fund has asked Skypower’s external manager, CIM, to investigate the claims and report back. The whistleblowers have requested that CalPERS initiate an independent forensic audit to verify the allegations, and have urged CalPERS to remain involved in the investigation to ensure the integrity of the results.
The whistleblowers have also expressed concern for their safety, requesting that their identities remain confidential. They have provided evidence to support their claims, including emails and accounting records. The evidence suggests that Skypower CEO Kerry Adler overruled the advice of law enforcement agencies regarding the safety of kidnapping victims, engaged in workplace harassment and bullying, misused company resources, and lied to investors.
