The White House tapped current acting chief of the Wage and Hour Division, Jessica Looman, to lead the agency permanently as administrator, according to a Wednesday announcement, after Obama-era official David Weil withdrew his name from consideration.
Looman, a former executive director of the Minnesota building trades coalition, has been leading the agency in an acting capacity since June 2021.
