Rochelle Herman gathered evidence against now-convicted pedophile Jared Fogle for years after he made concerning comments during a journalistic meeting.
Discovery’s new investigation docuseries Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster recounts the story of how former Florida journalist and radio broadcaster, Rochelle Herman-Walrond, helped the FBI to catch a now-convicted pedophile.
The man in question, Jared Fogle, was something of a late 2000s fitness influencer, having lost 200lbs eating only Subway sandwiches, he became a spokesperson for the brand.
Rochelle Herman-Walrond is a former radio and broadcast journalist. She married her now ex-husband Tom in 1996 and had her first child Thomas in 1997. Shortly after she and her partner had a daughter named Angela.
After ten years of marriage, she and Tom divorced, which was when she shifted her focus to her career. “She became like a huge regional star. As a kid, I definitely found my mom to be really cool. She would always be going out and doing things for the radio and TV shows she had,” her son recounted in the documentary.
He added that Rochelle would often purchase food for underprivileged people on the streets and a co-worker described the former journalist as a “sweet and dedicated individual.”
