William Ruto Responds to Alleged Whistleblower Report Claiming ... - Tuko.co.ke

President William Ruto has dismissed a report released by an individual claiming to be an Independent Electoral Commission (IEBC) whistleblower purporting to show how the 2022 polls were rigged.

The alleged whistleblower's report claimed that the then-presidential candidate Raila Odinga won the elections by 8,170,355 votes representing 58% edging out President William Ruto who allegedly had 5,915,973 votes, 42%.

This is however in contrast to the 49%-50% official result for Raila and Ruto announced by IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati respectively.

The whistleblower further claimed that there was more rigging at constituency levels as most parliamentary results were also rigged in favour of Ruto's UDA party.

Not possible

However, taking to Twitter on Sunday, January 29, Ruto censured the whistleblower saying it is not possible for Raila to beat him in his perceived strongholds as the report claims.

"Wajinga waliisha Kenya. There is simply no possibility that Raila beat Ruto in Uasin Gishu, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi and Meru. Yet that is what the so-called whistleblower claims," said Ruto.
