Three months from today, on 11 June 2026, the opening match of the men's FIFA World Cup 2026 will take place in Canada, Mexico and the USA. A year later, on 24 June 2027, the opening match of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 will be held in Brazil – reason enough to kick off our "Football & Law" blog series on the legal rules behind the major tournaments.
