Seoul Seodaemun Police Station is investigating a case involving YouTuber Kim Ou-joon, who was reported for allegedly spreading false information claiming that Prime Minister Kim Min-seok did not hold a Cabinet meeting during President Lee Jae Myung’s overseas trip.
The case, filed by Citizens’ Action for Upright Judicial Justice (SASEHANG) under charges of defamation through false information under the Information and Communications Network Act and obstruction of business by fraud under the Criminal Act, was assigned to the investigation team at Seodaemun Police Station on the 13th.
Earlier, SASEHANG reported Kim to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 9th, stating that on the 5th, during a broadcast on his YouTube channel ‘Humility is Hard News Factory,’ Kim mentioned instability in the Middle East during the president’s overseas trip and claimed, “There was not even a Cabinet meeting to respond swiftly during the president’s trip,” thereby damaging Prime Minister Kim’s reputation. In response, the Prime Minister’s Office refuted, “Daily ministerial meetings related to the Middle East situation were held throughout the president’s overseas trip.”
