Tadepalli, July 24: YSRCP has slammed Chandrababu Naidu for his false claims and weeding out beneficiaries of Talliki Vandanam.
Speaking to media here on Friday, former minister Chelluboina Srinivas Venugopal said, Chandrababu had the audacity to say that Talliki Vandanam was designed by Nara Lokesh while the reality is that the name was changed from Amma Vodi, which is the brain child of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In the programme held at Rampa Chodavaram Chandrababu made false claims and the Talliki Vandanam ended up an event in which mothers of school going children were cheated. The number of beneficiaries was cut on one pretext or the other, there was scant budget allocation while the claims were very high.
About22. 65 lakh students did not get the welfare scheme as the number of eligible students was reduced to to 64.75 lakh from 87.41 lakhs.
In the first year the scheme was not implemented and in the second year meager funds were given and now there are cases where students are yet to get a part of the amount which shows the negligence of the government.
The government has been working out to fix the number of beneficiaries according to the meager budget it has allocated and was weeding out the names in the name electricity bill, vehicles and other such norms and the Polytechnic and ITI students are left out.
