BSP president Mayawati Sunday rejected Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations that his party had reached out to her for an alliance ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and even offered her the chief minister’s post but she did not respond because she was under pressure from the Centre’s investigating agencies.
Addressing the media in Lucknow, Mayawati said Gandhi’s remark shows the Congress party’s inferiority complex, casteist mindset and hatred for Dalits, other deprived sections, and the Bahujan Samaj Party. “Meri party ke bare me kuch bhi kehne se pehle unhe apna khud ka ghar bhi dekh lena chahiye jo bikhra pada hai. Jiska BJP bhi khub faida utha rahi hai (Before making any remark against my party, Gandhi should first look at his own house that is in disarray. Even the BJP is taking advantage of that),” Mayawati said adding that it will be better if Gandhi directs his concern on his own party rather than others.
On Gandhi’s remark about forming an alliance with her party in the UP polls and offering her the CM post, Mayawati said, “This is completely false and fact-less. There is no truth in this. In fact, every opposition party should review the deadly results of the UP assembly polls. But such baseless remarks should not be made.” She also said that Congress should think 100 times before commenting on the BSP.
