Air China collects evidence against false claims that ex-pilots fired over safety incidents turned to honey sales - Global Times

Chinese carrier Air China said in a statement on Saturday that it has collected evidence against several accounts spreading false claims that individuals posing as former Air China pilots were dismissed over alleged aviation safety incidents and later turned to beekeeping and selling honey.

The airline said that accounts on social media platforms had released videos with titles such as "From 10,000 Meters in the Sky to Beekeeping in the Mountains: A Female Pilot's Comeback" and "Former Air China Captain Fired for Refusing a Flight — The Truth Hidden for Eight Years."

The videos claimed that the individuals involved were former Air China pilots who were dismissed following aviation safety incidents and later turned to beekeeping and honey sales. However, Air China said its verification confirmed that the individuals in these videos were not employees of the airline, according to a statement published on its official WeChat account on Saturday.

The company also said that the flight information cited in the videos was false. It noted that the purported origins and destinations of flights CA1348 on November 3, 2016, and CA1832 on October 15, 2017, did not match Air China's actual routes operated on those dates. Air China further stated that no abnormal incidents — including single-engine emergency landings or engine damage — occurred on those flights.
