ALBANY, Ore. - The Albany Police Department and Benton County Sheriff's Office are informing residents that a social media post from an unknown source claiming that a fatal shooting took place in North Albany Wednesday night is false and there is no cause for concern from the community.
On their own social media, Benton County Sheriff's Office says that they received an image of a "Snap" via SnapChat from a concerned citizen.
The Albany Police Department has also taken to social media to let residents know that if they see this report circulating that Albany Police did not receive a report about a shooting and is investigating the post.
