Allen physician Lashondria Simpson-Camp is one of three charged in a $170 million fraud, kickback, and money laundering scheme involving fraudulent prescriptions, a clinic in Richardson, and Houston-area pharmacies. Simpson-Camp and her twin sister, pharmacist Shalondria Simpson, are two of the three defendants in the 13-count indictment, which is being prosecuted in Houston.
Simpson-Camp, who worked at Accuhealth Injury and Wellness in Richardson, allegedly referred prescriptions to her sister’s Houston-area pharmacies, Advance Pharmacy and TruCare Pharmacy, in exchange for illegal kickbacks and bribes. The third defendant, Shayla Bryant, was a pharmacist and Advance Pharmacy and TruCare Pharmacy’s business manager.
According to Texas Medical Board documents, Simpson-Camp is a general surgery physician specializing in pain management and rehab medicine. She has practiced in Texas for 10 years and 16 years in all. In 2019, she was put on a remedial plan by the Texas Medical Board for failing to notify her patients that her practice was closed, forcing them to miss an appointment. She was forced to take four hours of continuing medical education and pass the Medical Jurisprudence Exam with a score of 75. She has no other board discipline or criminal history, according to the TMB. Her license remains active.
