Amazon last-mile delivery provider Regional Express Inc. and its subsidiaries have been hit with a class action lawsuit alleging they failed to pay drivers all of the wages they were owed.

Plaintiff Cyle Dixon alleges Regional Express employed him as a non-exempt driver paid on an hourly basis from August through November 2022. He claims he was not paid for mandatory time working before and after his scheduled shift times or for missed meal and rest breaks, according to the wage-and-hour lawsuit.

Wage-and-hour lawsuit says drivers not paid for mandatory work

Dixon alleges that he was required to arrive approximately 10 minutes before his scheduled shift to perform mandatory work, such as attending meetings and obtaining keys and gas cards, but was not paid for this time. The wage-and-hour lawsuit says that these tasks were “integral and indispensable” to the delivery job he was hired to perform.

Additionally, Dixon says he was not paid for all compensable work performed at the end of his shifts. In some cases, he would not return to the work location until more than an hour after his shift was scheduled to end because he was still...
