Andrew police whistleblower urges detectives to probe donations to King's stately Scots home - Daily Record

Anti-monarchist campaign group Republic’s CEO Graham Smith is now demanding a criminal probe is include cash given to the King’s 18th century mansion Dumfries House in the East Ayrshire.

The whistleblower who reported Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to police has urged detectives to investigate donations to a Scottish stately home owned by King Charles. Andrew’s shock arrest last week came in response to a crime report sent to Thames Valley Police by anti-monarchist campaign group Republic’s CEO Graham Smith.

And he is now demanding a criminal probe is widened to include the financial affairs of other royals including cash given to the King’s 18th century mansion Dumfries House in the East Ayrshire. King Charles' former aide Michael Fawcett was also forced to quit as chief executive of The Prince’s Foundation in 2021 after a letter emerged in which he promised to help a Saudi donor obtain a knighthood and British citizenship.

He wrote that the charity would be “happy and willing” to use its influence to help tycoon Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz, who donated thousands of pounds to help restore Dumfries House. An independent investigation found that Fawcett - the King’s closest confidant for 40 years - had co-ordinated with “so-called fixers” in a bid to land an honour for a donor.

In 2022 it was also reported that the King - then Prince of Wales - had accepted bags stuffed with cash from Qatari sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani. The 63-year-old reportedly gave...
