The Archdiocese of New York’s settlement of wage law claims by the former head custodian and other Hispanic workers at a Harlem parish was approved by a federal court.
The proposed settlement of the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law claims by Nicolas Guadalupe Ramirez, Estela Rocio Ramirez, Rosalinda Rosales, Nicholas P. Ramirez, and Alberto Pena is “fair and reasonable,” the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Dec. 23. Those claims are dismissed with prejudice as are all of the plaintiffs’ other claims, Judge Gregory H. Woods said.
