A chief superintendent is investigating after a whistleblower alleged some officers based at the firearms unit at Garda Headquarters in Dublin were failing to store weapons correctly.
The Sunday Independent understands the protected disclosure, made by a member of the force, is being “fully probed” and contains a number of other serious allegations, including that weapons and ammunition were not properly logged, and could go missing.
