BC Labour Relations Board’s Robyn Trask elected Canadian Bar Association’s 2026-2027 vice president - Canadian Lawyer
British Columbia Labour Relations Board vice chair Robyn Trask has been elected the Canadian Bar Association’s vice president for the 2026-2027 term.
She is the national sections representative on the CBA board and has previously chaired the CBA sections subcommittee and the CBA national labour and employment law section. She also co-chaired the CBABC’s labour law section.
Trask served as the BC Labour Relations Board’s legal counsel before her appointment to vice chair in January 2025. Initially, she was going to hold the post for six months until June 30, 2025, per the Administrative Tribunals Act; however, she was reappointed to a second six-month term that began on August 1, 2025.
Moreover, she was once the BC Teachers’ Federation’s general counsel and an associate at Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP. She conducted legal research with the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association and was Ethiopia project consultant for the Justice Education Society of BC, according to LinkedIn. She was also president of West Coast LEAF’s board from 2015 to 2017.
Trask focuses on labour, human rights and constitutional litigation. She has acted for clients before administrative tribunals and at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
She received her LLB from the University of British Columbia and her LLM (Distinction) in human rights, conflict and justice from the University of London. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2005 and to the BC bar in 2008.
