Bellevue school district hit with lawsuit by student over ex-GF's accusations - KOMO News

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A Newport High School student on Tuesday filed a lawsuit and a $3 million notice of claim against the Bellevue School District over claims by the junior student who insists he was abandoned by school administrators after he says he was falsely accused of date violence by a fellow student.

The court documents identify the 17-year-old student only as C.S.A., who said the chain of events that led to the litigation began after he and his ex-girlfriend, also a student, ended their relationship last fall.

He alleged that shortly after the relationship soured, she vandalized his car and hit him.

The court documents filed Tuesday show the actual complaint form the student filed with the school in which he made those very allegations.

The student also alleges that after he filed his complaint, his ex-girlfriend accused him of physically and emotionally assaulting her. But the teen insist that he never did that.

School district officials declined to comment, citing privacy concerns for the students involved.

The district has 20 days to respond to the legal claim.

KOMO News confirmed with the Bellevue Police Department that its officers conducted an investigation. The King County Prosecutors' Office also confirmed that no charges were filed against him.

But the boy's family says the allegations against him became a flashpoint and an ongoing source of harassment from other students that still happens.
