Sutter Valley Medical Foundation must face accusations it failed to pay workers overtime and minimum wages after a federal judge in California rejected the nonprofit health organization’s request to have the case thrown out.
The medical assistant who filed the would-be class case sufficiently alleged that she worked uncompensated overtime, and Sutter Valley can’t use two similar suits in state court to have her state-law claims paused or tossed from the federal action, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said.
