CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A member of a Catholic fraternity is suing the Diocese of Charleston and a priest after he says false claims were made about him, including that pornography was found on his computer.
Alexander Kirby claims Father Paul Lacombe made several false statements about him aimed at interfering with his contractual and personal relationships with the Catholic Church.
Kirby claims Lacombe took an interest in a job opportunity Kirby had with the church, and the false claims made that opportunity go away.
Kirby says in the suit that claims of pornography on his computer were not true and caused him to no longer be welcome in the Catholic fraternity.
The Diocese of Charleston responded to a request for comment, saying:
“We have received a copy of the lawsuit and are currently reviewing it. We will respond to the pleading in due time.
