A Clementon man is accused of submitting phony claims to property insurers who paid almost $200,000 for non-existent damage.
John Philbin, 48, allegedly conducted the scam from October 2022 to May 2023 while working as a property claims adjuster, according to the Attorney General's Office.
“The defendant in this case knew the system from the inside, and he is charged with exploiting that knowledge and access for illicit financial gain,” Theresa L. Hilton., director of the state Division of Criminal Justice, said in an Oct. 2 statement.
