The International Boxing Association has said it will support an independent inquiry into the claims of bribery and corruption made by its former executive director, adding that anyone found guilty of wrongdoing will be banned for life.
Ho Kim, who held the post for nine years before his dismissal in 2015, said he was directly involved in paying $500,000 in cash to national federation delegates to secure enough votes for Wu Ching-kuo (CK) to become president of the IBA, then known as the AIBA, in 2006.
The 66-year-old also said he was offered bribes by a number of national federations, not least in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics when he says two countries offered him $350,000 to manipulate bouts at the Games. Ho Kim
