Court Adjourns Nnamdi Emeh's Case To October As Anambra Whistleblower Remains In Detention Three Years After Arrest - Sahara Reporters

His father, Prof. John Kanu Emeh, had earlier informed SaharaReporters of the scheduled court sitting, expressing hope that progress would be made in the long-running case.

The Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State, has adjourned the case involving detained Nigerian whistleblower and Information Technology (IT) expert, Nnamdi Daniel Emeh, to October 27, 2026.

The development followed Wednesday's court proceedings during which the trial judge attended only to petitions arising from party primary elections, leaving other pending matters, including Emeh's case, without hearing.

Confirming the development, a source familiar with the proceedings told SaharaReporters, "At the FHC Awka today, the presiding judge treated primary election petitions only. All other cases, including Nnamdi's, were adjourned. Our matter was adjourned till October 27."

The adjournment comes days after SaharaReporters reported that Emeh's case had been scheduled for hearing on Tuesday, July 14, while his family continued to demand justice more than three years after his controversial arrest in the Republic of Benin and subsequent return to Nigeria.
